New Things

Once there was a girl. She became a very. very big girl after God put a baby in her tummy. One day it was time for this baby to come out and meet her mom and dad. She did not want to as she had already decided that this was not the day she wished to be born. So time passed, mom and dad and everyone else in the kingdom waited and waited. And waited some more days. And then they waited some more days. And some more. And then after many says of waiting it was decided that maybe baby girl's internal clock was a bit off and perhaps it was time to MAKE her be born. And so that was how it happened and everyone was happy to meet Her Royal Sleepiness and we are all very glad that we did not wait for her to decide that it was time. Especially her mom, who really wasn't all THAT big and who would have thought that there was 10 pounds of girl baby in there?

I, for one, wish that she was just a tad more fussy. She is always sleeping so soundly and I really feel cheated out of some quality rocking time.

In knitting news, there's not much. Still working on those socks for my stepdad. Still thinking that I must be an idiot for starting size 13 sock on size 0 needles. I've got 6 inches on one and 5 1/2 on the other one. There could be a yarn famine in my future. Oh well, at least I can take comfort in the knowledge that I started them toe-up so if a yarn famine become iminent, I can make them into ankle socks or something. I look forward to starting my husband's size 10 socks, which will be a peice of cake after these. I have made a couple of cute scarves with some elcheapo yarn. But they're real cute and a quick bit of gratification too.

Tomorrow is field trip day with the Tot. So much for a 'day off'. There won't be any knitting I think.
