Gaurd animal only in the sense that he is close to the door and if someone were to come in they would have to step over him and risk a fall...He's otherwise been quite a useless pet in the few months that we've had him. Fun to watch, super-affectionate (to the point of being annoying), and cute as a button, but geez, at least keep my yard from looking like an interstate-highway for moles, could ya' little fella? T-fer has decidedly NOT earned his keep. We are keeping him anyway, he's a family member. And nobody gets rid of 'Uncle Bob' or thier wierd cousin what's his name just because he's annoying and eats alot. That being said, when he's not being lazy and looking all cute (or eating) he entertains himself by treating the yarn in ways it wasn't meant to be treated. I never get pictures of that because I'm always rushing to rescue the yarn before irreparable damage occurs. I could excuse behavior like that if he made up for it by keeping the mole situation under control. He could at the very least excercise Big Fat Sam a little more often. But no, abusing the yarn seems to be his only interest aside from the food bowl. It looks like I will have to find an alternative to storing pretty yarns in fancy baskets on the floor, they're just too darn tempting for the little guy.

Not Knitting...

Crochet! And I forgot that I'm much faster with a crochet hook than I am with knitting needles. So I wonder why I don't play with this more often.

Candi Jensen's 'Hooked On Crochet'. Had it a while. Also had the current project a while. It stalled, probably for some socks or something silly like that. I will finish it this time. Maybe.

Shiney new printer dock for my shiney new camera. I can't tell if it takes good pictures, yet. My favorite subject never has a bad picture day (even when I sneak up behind her like I did in the above shot) and therefore gives me no basis for comparison. Besides, I think being able to take good pictures is probably more dependent on knowing your equipment and it's settings and how and when to use different options. We shall see-I have alot of reading and experimenting to do. I have been camera shopping off and on for a while. I finally went ahead and got a Kodak Easyshare because it seemd like it's easy enough that I can get The Tot to learn how to use it and then maybe she can teach her daddy. One can only hope.

Since this new toy was purchased AFTER field trip day, I didn't get to take any fun pics of the wee herd visiting the dentist. It was cool! And kudos to any adult who wakes up every morning and willingly takes on 25 preschoolers. Today, fortunately, the parent volunteers were ready for tiny masses and not one single preschooler will have to spend the night at the dentist! Let's hope it goes as smoothly next month when the herd will be escorted to the airport. How many opportunities can you come up with for mischief-making at the airport? And how many MORE do you think creative young minds can team-up and invent? Yeah. I know. I may sit that one out....
